Candle Care

At Belisi, we understand the importance of maintaining the quality and longevity of your candles. Proper candle care not only enhances your overall experience but also ensures safety and optimal performance. Whether you're new to candle ownership or a seasoned enthusiast, our comprehensive guide will help you get the most out of your favorite scents.

01

Trim Your Wick

Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to approximately 6mm to prevent excessive smoking and ensure a clean, even burn. Trimming the wick also helps to control the size of the flame and prevents it from becoming too large, which can lead to sooting and uneven burning.

02

Allow for Proper Burn Time

For the initial lighting, allow your candle to burn for a sufficient amount of time, typically 2-4 hours, or until the wax pool reaches the edges of the container. This prevents tunneling, where the wax burns straight down the center, leaving unused wax along the sides. Subsequent burns should also be long enough to melt the entire surface of the candle to maintain an even burn and prevent wax buildup.

03

Practice Safe Burning

Keep your candle away from drafts, as they can cause uneven burning and lead to flickering or excessive smoke. Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from fans, open windows, and air vents to ensure a consistent and steady burn.

Always place candles on heat-resistant surfaces and away from flammable materials. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended. Avoid moving a candle while it is burning or the wax is still hot

04

Extinguish Safely

When extinguishing your candle, avoid blowing it out, as this can cause hot wax to splatter. Instead, use a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax and then straighten it back up. This helps to prevent smoking and minimizes the risk of accidental fires.

05

Store Properly

Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Excessive heat can cause candles to warp or soften, while sunlight can fade colors and affect the scent. Proper storage ensures that your candles remain in optimal condition until you're ready to enjoy them.

06

Keep it Clean

Regularly clean the wax pool of any debris or wick trimmings to maintain a clean and efficient burn. You can use a wick trimmer or a tissue to remove any excess buildup, ensuring that your candle continues to burn evenly and safely.

By following these simple candle care tips, you can enhance your candle-burning experience and enjoy the soothing ambiance and delightful fragrances for hours on end. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to our friendly customer support team.
